Atlanta, Georgia - JL Software today announced Edition 1.5 of their popular Handbook of High-Risk Obstetrics for iPhone or iPod touch. The new edition features several new chapters on the recently-released American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists' guidelines on electronic fetal monitoring. In addition, many annotated ultrasound images of fetal anomalies have been added to the chapter on The Screening Ultrasound Exam.

This new edition also contains dozens of new ultrasound images of normal fetal anatomy, for reference when the student or resident is learning OB ultrasound. This Library of Fetal Ultrasound features high-resolution, extensively annotated images of normal fetal structures, with accompanying explanatory text. Many other chapters have been expanded and updated.

The Handbook now checks for new content made available between app releases and offers to download the new pages directly to the user's device. Any new and important information from ACOG or CDC, latest journal articles, or additions to the ultrasound image library can be downloaded as soon as they are made available. Apple Push Notifications alerts the user to the availability of new content.

The Handbook is written for the busy medical student, resident in Obstetrics, or practicing clinician who needs a comprehensive and up-to-date yet concise guide to caring for the woman with a high-risk pregnancy.
