Orlando, Florida - On June 3, 2009, independent software developer Danilo Campos announced the release of GlobeJot 1.0, the new travel organizer for iPhone and iPod touch. After a day of sales, it was discovered that the application suffered from a critical bug in its final version, causing a faulty app to become a generous donation.

"Despite over a month of testing, a bug slipped into the shipping version," said Campos. "GlobeJot had a problem that affected a small minority of users. The application did not save data often enough. When the crash bug occurred, it meant that users could lose all of the data they'd added since they last launched the app. While not everyone would encounter this situation, I had to stop selling the app until I knew I could correct it and make amends for my mistake."

Upon discovering the bug, Campos immediately pulled the application from sale. He then posted a public apology, invited customers to solicit Apple for refunds, and announced plans to donate proceeds from the first day of sales to the Kristin Brooks Hope Center.

Designed to leverage the iPhone's unique capabilities and interface, GlobeJot is the premier tool for keeping track of flight data, reservations, activities, and checklists for the busy globetrotter. GlobeJot allows users to make a list of all of the things they want to enjoy on their trip, sortable by name, priority, or cost.

GlobeJot's interface focuses on a single trip, presenting the user with only the most pertinent information at all times. Users can store multiple trips and effortlessly switch between them to view and edit travel details. GlobeJot's customizable dashboard pays homage to the experience of managing travel details in a paper journal. Users can arrange their dashboard items in any order they wish and when no longer needed, clear them with just one tap. All other data can be accessed through GlobeJot's tab bar.

"My customers mean the world to me. I couldn't feel good about letting an app with such a glaring problem remain on sale," said Campos. "Especially in this tough economic climate, I value those who are spending their hard earned income on the work I provide. It is my hope that my mistake will benefit a worthy cause."

GlobeJot is the third application for Campos. It has been updated to version 1.0.1, including multiple bug fixes and improved data save behavior. GlobeJot returns to the iTunes App Store today, June 24th, 2009.
