GiantCrayon Games today announces the results of their promotion: over $1500 raised, one dollar at a time. Through March and April of this year, for every copy of GiantCrayon's ShiveringKittens iPhone game sold, $1 would be donated to the American Society to Prevent Cruelty To Animals. ShiveringKittens is a game in which players arrange falling blocks to free animated kittens stuck in a Minnesota winter.

 

San Diego, CA - GiantCrayon Games, the game publisher that pioneered the first iPhone app-based fundraising promo announces the results of that promotion: over $1500 raised, one dollar at a time. Through March and April of this year, for every copy of GiantCrayon's ShiveringKittens iPhone game sold, $1 would be donated to the American Society to Prevent Cruelty To Animals (ASPCA®).

 

ShiveringKittens is a game in which players arrange falling blocks to free animated kittens stuck in a Minnesota winter. The more ice blocks players connect, the more kittens they rescue and the more points they earn. With each kitten that players rescue, the satisfying ice crunch and plaintive meows of the freed kittens reward players for their efforts. For those players who want to amp up the challenge, ShiveringKittens comes in 10 increasingly difficult levels.

The fundraising promotion came as a result of merging a game designed for cat lovers with an organization that helped animals of all kinds. It was a seamless fit. Goggin concluded, "We'd love to work with the ASPCA again in the future. Everyone worked very hard to raise as much money as possible and it was an incredible experience."
