California based Toy Kite Software has released iSamurai Lite: Two-Player Sword Fight, the free version of their Wi-Fi sword fighting game and simulation for iPhone and iPod touch. iSamurai Lite is a real-life sword-fighting game, where two players use their iPhones as swords, slashing and blocking to attack and defend. Attacks are interpreted by the iPhones in real-time and immediately registered by both iPhones as successful or blocked.

Los Angeles, California - Toy Kite Software has released iSamurai Lite: Two-Player Sword Fight, a free version of their Wi-Fi sword fighting game and simulation for iPhone and iPod touch. Developed to take advantage of the iPhone's accelerometers and networking capabilities, iSamurai is an interactive sword-fighting game, where the two players use actual physical motions to attack and block attacks with their iPhones.

When a player slashes with his iPhone and his/her opponent blocks by holding up another iPhone, the sound of clashing swords is heard from both devices. An unsuccessful block results in the defender's iPhone emitting one of a number of cries to indicate a hit. Toy Kite has posted videos on its web site (as well as on YouTube) demonstrating the game in action. A training "Dojo" is offered so players can practice the different iSamurai moves.

"iSamurai is a simulation of a sword fight for two people, similar to action-oriented games for the Wii. With iSamurai Lite, we are making our game available to all iPhone and iPod touch 2nd generation users for free," said Robert Hogg, CEO and founder of Toy Kite Software. "Players are dueling with their iPhone swords in their living rooms!"

In iSamurai Lite, the iPhones distinguish between different attacks and each attack can be countered by the opponent using the correct block. The two devices communicate their actions and countering actions to each other over Wi-Fi in real time and use realistic sounds to indicate whether an attack was successful or blocked. After the battle, both devices report the scores with appropriate images for the winner and loser.

iSamurai Lite includes a single-player mode with two different opponents. The opponents yell out different attacks, and the player must quickly defend against them and launch offensive attacks by slashing with their iPhone. To get players started, iSamurai has a tutorial featuring animations of the different attacks. The game also includes quotes from The Art of War by Sun Tzu and from The Book of Five Rings by samurai Miyamoto Musashi.
