Karelia Software today announced the immediate availability of Sandvox 1.6.2, its award-winning web design software for Mac OS X. A showcase of website designs for Sandvox is available, featuring dozens of commercial and free designs available for installation over and above the fifty designs included in the program. Version 1.6.2 is a bug-fix update, solving problems that have affected a handful of users.

 

Alameda, California - Karelia Software announced the immediate availability of version 1.6.2 of Sandvox ®, its award-winning web design software for Mac OS X. Version 1.6.2 is a bug-fix update, solving problems that have affected a handful of users.

 

Version 1.6.2 fixes a few issues in page editing, solving some rare issues where changed text would not be saved or content would be lost when moving an existing page. The update also solves several publishing issues where content would be re-published unnecessarily in certain circumstances.

 

The update also allows for anamorphic QuickTime movies to be properly detected, as long as the program is run under Mac OS X 10.5 or with QuickTime 7.2 or above.

 

A showcase of website designs for Sandvox is available, featuring dozens of commercial and free designs available for installation over and above the fifty designs included in the program. This design repository can be browsed for users to find the design that matches their needs, or monitored for new releases from third-party providers as they become available. In addition, a user-contributed exhibit of websites built with Sandvox is online, featuring over three hundred site submissions along with descriptions of their content and how they were built using Sandvox.

 

A Universal Binary for PowerPC and Intel architectures, Sandvox 1.6 requires Mac OS X "Tiger" version 10.4.11, or "Leopard" version 10.5 and above, and is available in English, French, Danish, German, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. A single-user license to Sandvox costs $57 (USD); a single-user license for the Pro edition (enabling raw HTML editing plus additional Google integration) costs $97 (USD). Household licenses and site licenses are also available.
