The game has been developed by Toronto resident Syed Jafri who is a Computer Engineering graduate from McMaster University. While Jafri works full time as a Satellite and Television Broadcast Design Engineer, he takes up programming "for a lack of better things to do" and that's how Stitch'em Words was born. When asked about his inspiration for the game, Jafri says he was inspired to build Stitch'em Words after coming across a popular television show, Concentration which created an absolutely new meaning for word games for him. The next step was to convince friends to start playing and the Stitch'em craze spread like wild fire ever since.

 

Stitch'em Words definitely seems to be gaining an increasing amount of popularity among players who have an eye for words but are looking for something beyond scrabble and anagrams. The game is scoring full points for merging creativity and analytical thinking into a word game like never before.

 

Obviously the word game enthusiasts are loving the new spin Jafri's game is putting on words. However, while regular players of Scrabble, BookWorm, Text Twist and other conventional word games are bound to enjoy this game; those with amazing analytical abilities are likely to do better and possibly enjoy it more. When asked about the future plans for Stitch'em and its fans, Jafri said he welcomes user feedback. "In fact, most of the features released in the Ultimate Edition were a result of direct player feedback. A Lite version is in the works for all those still on edge on getting another Word game," says the 26 year old engineer from Toronto. In other plans, Jafri hopes to organize an International Stitch'em Words Championship, "...we have had great success with our Leader's Board and want to take it to the next level. Currently we have more than 5600 unique players registered on our Leader's Board from all over the world, which keeps the competition very exciting to take a part in."

 

Exciting it will be. With new users catching on to the Stitch'em craze, this one of a kind word game is definitely shaking up the world of word games. Apart from Stitch'em Words, Jafri is also working on a new game in a different genre.
