Screwy partitions with new hard drive

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a new hard drive for my system. The current setup has one 10G hdd in 2 partitions. Win2k on C: and Win98 on D: (partitions 1 and 2 respectively). I understand that when I add the 2nd hdd the system will not be able to boot into win98 because it will look for the proper files on the new (blank) hdd, and will consider the 2nd partition on my first drive "E:" thus mucking up my dual boot. There must be a way around this, I really don't feel like installing the o/s'es all over again. Any ideas? Does partition magic have the ability to move my Win98 partition to the new drive then resize the old drive to be one partition for Win2k (without the constant need of a 3rd party program)?

What file system are you using ?

I suppose that the main board handle ATA66.

Beware of the FAT 4Gyga disk limit.
