help: compuer rebooting of its own with event 1003 error

Recommended Posts

Hi

Comp. Specs

P-IV Intel Chipset 1.8Mhz

Intel motherboard D845GEBV2

512 MB Ram

ATI Radeon 7500 with 128 Mb video ram

Win XP SP1

Seagate 80Gigs IDE 7200

LG DVD ROM

BENQ 1650 DVD Writer

For the past 3 weeks, my computer keeps hanging and restarting of its own at random intervals. The computer was performing well until the 3rd of march, when I bought a BENQ DW 1650 DVD Writer. I replaced it with my old LG CD writer. It installed perfectly well, it was a simple plug and play device. When I restarted the computer after a few hours, after startup the system suddenly hanged. This had never happened for the past 2.5 yrs when I have been using this computer. On a cold restart, I got the error message [might not be 100% accurate as I hadn’t noted it down but I am trying to recall “Your computer has recovered from a serious error. A direct draw function could not be performed by the graphics card.” In the event log, I got this”……

Error code 000000ea, parameter1 817538e8, parameter2 81742a88, parameter3 818a01d8, parameter4 00000001.

On 6th of march, I installed a new DSL connection [prior to that I was on dlup]

On the 13th of march, my computer restarted of its own, while I was not on my desk, and I got the error “your computer has recovered from a serious error…notify MS about the problem”

I received a third such error on 20th March 2006

Today, on 22nd March, I received a similar error…..during this time, I was burning a DVD……

Error code 0000000a, parameter1 00000166, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 804f48a3.

I have also noticed that sometimes the computer hangs of its own [does not restart and is not involved with any 1003 error] Instead I get this error

The IPSEC Services service terminated with the following error:

An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions.

Source: Service control manager

Event ID 7023

Category None

This error is even more frequent, I get it almost every two days, the computer hangs while downloading stuff from the net. This error has started occuring after i installed the DSL connection.

Apart from that, the computer functions absolutely normally while playing games, movies, etc………

Can someone guide me, to fix this problem without formatting my computer? I am pretty desperate

Regards,

P.S. -> is there anyway to attach my minidumps here?

Error code 000000ea = "THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER"

Error code 0000000a = "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

There is something wrong with your drivers?

Try reinstalling drivers for your graphics card and the xdsl modem, if any. And see if there's any updates in Microsoft/Windows Update.
