dbegmore 0 Posted January 31, 2006 Hi, I purchase Doom 3 yesterday and installed it. It installed correctly. I ran the game and the movies and then the menu came up. But after I clicked on new game then recruit, the loading screen appears. It loads till last after which it shuts down and the problem is related to the graphics. CONFIG ------ Win XP SP2 Intel P4 2.00 GHz Realtek Audio'97 Sound Intel 82845G Onboard Graphics with latest drivers and 32 MB memory. 128 MB RAM I know that this is below the minimum requirments bcause of the less RAM ... but my gfx card takes all types of graphics in every game ... like Prince of Persia:Warrior within, evil dead 2 and half life 2 ... I tried using dr watson to create an errr report but it failed ... The problem is related to a file called ialmdev.dll which i came to know about from drwatson... If you have any suggesstions on what i am to do, please tell me ... Thank you, Share this post Link to post
janericg 0 Posted January 31, 2006 Have you tried to update, latest version should be 1.3 Did a google check, the file you a refering to seems to have something to do with sound. Share this post Link to post
peterh 1 Posted January 31, 2006 Your gfx card is incapable of playing Doom 3, Doom 3 requires a DX 9 'capable' card. The Intel 845G is a DX 8 card and will NOT run Doom 3 - its like asking a Reliant robin to compete in a F1 race (not going to happen). Please get a AGP card to play games on ....
