When you mean crashed, how do you mean crashed?

Hard disk failure?

Blue screen of death?

OS refuses to boot?

Is C: drive still usable?

What is on drive D: - no files? some files? corrupt files?

More info please!

all of the D drive files from the last time i shut down my computer (6 months ago) are there. but all the files i saved on my computer since are gone. my C drive is perfectly fine.. i dont have any recent restore points because i havent turned off my computer in the past 6 months (my last restore point is from the last time i shut down). there was no blue screen.. some friends went into my room and didnt shut off my computer properly.. that is what caused this problem. does this help?

My be the files are on the hard disk but a different place.

Use the Start, Search facility to see if they been saved elsewhere eg you logged in as a different user and files have been saved to a different location. A crash or reboot should not affect files saved to disk. A system restore is no good as that affects program files only not data files.
