What are your system specs?

Does your Device Manager have problematic entries? (Ones with yellow ! and/or red X)

Have you tried to update your motherboard / chipset drivers?

Have you installed DirectX 9.0©?

Install/update AGP drivers before you install card.

Try checking in the system information (Click Start->Run: "msinfo32") utility in the hardware resources/conflicts section to see if there are any conflicts.

Disable onboard video card from BIOS.

And if you have sound card, disable onboard sound card.

Set "AGP Aperture" size in the BIOS to maximum value or equal to your card memory (64MB,128MB,etc).

Ensure the following are set to AUTO in BIOS:

"PnP/PCI Configurations->Resources Controlled by"

"PnP/PCI Configurations->Allocate IRQ to Video"

Or something like those.

Also, try this: http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_13957.html

And try uninstalling any old drivers for old graphics card, before you install new ones.

For XP:

Go into your System Properties and go to the Advanced tab. Hit Settings for Performance Options and go to the Advanced tab. Change Memory Usage from System Cache to Programs.

Specs:

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional

Version: 5.1.2600 build 2600

Processor: x86 Family 15 Model 1 Stepping 2 GenuineIntel ~1499 Mhz

Memory : 192mb

it has problematic entries with ! the yellow ones. There are two devices:

NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X

PCI Standard host CPU bridge

both of these devices cannot start (error10)

I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

I already installed directx 9

It has these ff. conflicting devices:

VgaSave

Intel® 82845 Processor to AGP Controller

NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X

Intel® 82801 BA/BAM AC`97 Audio Controller

Intel® 82801 BA/BAM SMBus Controller - 2443

Seems i have trouble looking for this IRQ to VGA stuff in BIOS. :-(

thanks for helping me out.

If you recieved a driver disc with your motherboard, use it now. Your computer seems to have either A) lost it's drivers completely, or B) it hates you. Also, if you feel comfortable enough, go into your BIOS again, and look for an option that should read something similar to "Onboard Audio Controller" and set it to the disabled option for now, sometimes onboard devices take an IRQ that is needed for a more important piece of hardware.

I've had similar problems too. I removed the card and cleaned all the contacts with methylated spirits, when it was replaced, it worked better than ever, so try that as well.
