computer logs on then off automatically

Is someone familier with the process of a computer automatically logging you off right when you log on? What is the fix to this problem and how is it done? Can someone please help? Thanks for your help...... It would be for a windows 2000 OS

HELP! i have the same problem, but when i try to copy the userinit.exe file from the windows home disk, it says access denied!

Try opening the file in safe mode witht the administrator (root) account.
