host to host bridge

Recommended Posts

Hi. I am new to NTC but hoping I can get some much needed help. I have searched the web until my brains have gurgled. (?)

I have 2 pc's that I have had networked for some time working just fine. They connect via a router to a dsl modem. Both pc's get on the internet just fine but I can no longer access the other computer's files.

In device mgr under other devices I have the dreaded yellow ! covering the usb host to host bridge.

I have no clue as to what that is or where I can get drivers for it. Is it a windows xp thing? a nic thing? a router thing?

Both pcs are MSI MS-6380 with AMD DURON processors, 1000 mhz.

Both can get on the internet just fine and pc 2 ( the wifes ) can still get files from my pc, even though hers also has the same ! point on usb host to host bridge; but I cannot access her pc.

Please help while I still have enough sanity to understand.

thanks in advance.

Sounds like you need the VIA 4in1-drivers. Get them from www.via.com.tw

This is not related to your file-access-problem though. That has to do with something else. Permissions perhaps? Or maybe you just installed WinXP ServicePack2 on one of the computers and got the internal firewall activated.
