Mike2 0 Posted October 11, 2004 I get this really annoying error message when sending mail... The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'michaelmega@hotmail.com'. Subject 'TEST', Account: 'Strategra', Server: 'mail.strategra.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '503 This mail server requires authentication. Please check your mail client settings.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 503, Error Number: 0x800CCC79 How do I fix this problem? Share this post Link to post
adamvjackson 0 Posted October 11, 2004 Enable authentication for your SMTP server?? Most ISP/hosted mail servers require authentication now to limit use as a spam relay. Share this post Link to post
adamvjackson 0 Posted October 12, 2004 APK, it looks as though the @hotmail.com is the destination address, and the ISP/hosted mail server is actively refusing sending, since SMTP authentication isn't enabled. Most ISP/hosted mail servers now require user authentication (almost always ticking the box "Use the same credentials as the POP3 server" or something similar setting). Share this post Link to post
