VPN through Internet on 2 Win2k servers...

Hey guys... I've never actually setup a VPN before, I've always found other ways of connecting to other local network. But one of my clients who happens to be a small business is going to need their two networks to be connected, into one LAN if we can... One building has DSL right now, and the other one is getting it installed Monday (22-June-03) and they will want to be able to access the other buildings server and such.

 

So how do I setup a VPN connection between these two points? Each side has a Win2k server. And I want building A to be able to access the server on network B, and vice a versa.

 

What is the best way to do this? I would like both buildings to be using the same subnet mask, so I want them to be on the same network essentially.

In regards to the subnetting .... I would keep them as separate VLANs .... why would you want broadcast traffic going across the VPN?

 

10.1.1.0 for site A

10.1.2.0 for site B

I am doing a VPN as well and would like to know:

 

How the clients can maintain internet access while connected to the VPN host. They complain of losing the ability to browse pages, check email and chat when connected to the VPN server.

 

They are connecting through DSL, T1 and Cable ISPs.

See my post in the other thread. Playing with that specified check box should give you the desired results.

 

If your users aren't too swift, use the Connection Manager Administration Kit to package your settings to have them easily deployed.

Thank you I will try that. The boxed is checked already so i will uncheck it and see what happens.
