archvile 0 Posted March 28, 2003 Upon trying to install Sonar 2.0 XL on my Windows XP PC, it promptly tells me that I don't have Direct X 8.1 installed, which is right, I have Direct X 9. The problem is that I can't go any further until it thinks I have Direct X 8.1. Is there a work-around for this or a program that will make a program think that you have a different version of Direct X installed? Any help on this matter would be great, because Sonar 2 XL is too expensive to go to waste. Thanks in advance. Share this post Link to post
Jimt0 0 Posted September 5, 2004 I've got exactly the same problem - the Sonar installer doesn't support DirectX 9. I haven't found a workaround yet - I'm sure Cakewalk would rather have you buy a newer version of Sonar. If anybody knows anything more about this issue, please post it here. The_Sourcerer 0 Posted October 20, 2004 I had the same problem too but I have found this page: http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/DX9.ASP. Idownloaded the file, followed the instructions and finally installed Sonar. Hope it works for you. Share this post Link to post
