The sims wont install under XP

I have the sims hot date and it wont install every time I try to install it it shows this message : ERROR getting instal path from the registry ??????

try to unistall the sims pack(s) and reinstall them again.

for some reason cant find the informations that the new installation need.

backup your saves first

My sims hot date wont install in my winxp. error says "Sims.exe is not a valid win32 application".

Please can someone explain and help me asap? Thanks so much..

I bought a Sims Double Deluxe set,and none of them will install,they get to like 23% and then just freeze up,any ideas?
