error message on blue screen

I hope somebody can help me with this one.

I am unable to install windows xp as i keep getting a stop error message on a blue background. The message is as follows:

 

STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x80845B83, 0xF9E84FA4, 0x00000000)

 

Please help!

could be anything, diable all bios caching and shadowing options in bios, check if ur ram is ok by enabling ram test in bios....finally, check if ur windows xp media is not corrupt or anything...

simplest resolution would be to use the repair function of the xp disk on boot

That won't work too well if you cannot install the OS;)
