kal77 0 Posted January 25, 2002 This is pretty strange - I have a partition setup specifically for my pagefile, which is set to 1024mb. For some reason windows has also created another pagefile on my c: drive which doesnt show up when I go to set up pagefile usage in the system tab under control panel. I have tried created a pagefile on c: and then removing it but it just stays there! I cannot delete the file as windows wont let me - anyone got any idea whats going on? Thanks alot Dan Share this post Link to post
thewizard75 0 Posted February 23, 2002 NT based OS's like to have a 2MB pagefile on the system drive (c: in your case?) to deal with crashes and the like (it's necessary because of how crash dump works, etc). I wouldn't worry about it, just set it to 2MB on c: and a large 1024MB on your other partition. Share this post Link to post
Alien 1 Posted February 24, 2002 That's funny, cos there's no pagefile on my C: partition, or any other partition other than the 1 I specified - which is D: Share this post Link to post
CrazyKillerMan 0 Posted March 3, 2002 I am actually having a similar but different problem. With Win XP PRO, RAID array with 2 - 40 gig maxtors and 2 IDE HDD on the primary channel, I am getting system files and reserved system resources on both the raid array (boot) and the 30 gig maxtor on the IDE channel. The FAT32 formatted 20 gig I have does not take on the system file traits, but for some reason, win xp is actually accessing the IDE controller ALOT during boot. I know this cause I kept the LED on the mobo as opposed to putting it on the raid controller. Is there some kind of connection with this???? Whats the deal? Share this post Link to post
