Durt 2 Posted October 18, 1999 I can't get my W98 box to share my w2k server internet connection. My win2k prof comp can connect just fine. The w98 comp can browse the lan network. The server has a LAN NIC and an Internet NIC. The w98 has default gateway set at 192.168.0.1 (server lan nic ip), otherwise uses DHCP for net info. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. bigfitty 0 Posted October 18, 1999 i'm still trying to get mine to work as well... If you look in the w2k help files, it says you need to set up static routes in the RAS/ROUTING mmc has anyone got this working? Share this post Link to post
alerion 0 Posted October 20, 1999 It works fine for me and the only thing I had to do was enable it. That is: on the server machine (RC2), right click the dial up connection and enable sharing in the property tab. There is nothing to do on the client (W98) machine. Just make sure it is setup to get its configuration automatically, i.e. no IP address assigned, no gateway assigned and so on. Share this post Link to post
spacey 0 Posted October 20, 1999 I just set up the same thing on my computer. Works great, no SyGate or WinGate needed...catch me on ICQ (2991793) if you want a more detailed explanation. Share this post Link to post
