win xp and maya 4

hello

i have maya 4.0 and i tried to install it and it sais that it is only for windows nt 4.0 or greater

1.does windows xp pro is greater then windows nt 4.0 or windows 2000 pro

2.does maya 4.0 works on xp

please help me cause i dont know what to do

try copying the installer to the hard drive and setting it to 98/Me compatible mode ! It worked for me with Avid software.
