Sandaasu 0 Posted September 27, 2001 Wasn't sure which board this fit best under, so I put it under this one. A friend of mine recently tried to clone a partition including XP (2600, apperantly Corporate, though I wonder after the nature of this problem) Upon trying to login, this error occurs and prevents the login from resuming. "Windows Product Activation: A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error Code: 0x80090006" The partition was apperantly resized when it was being moved to the larger drive. I checked usenet through deja, similar problems are reported when using software such as Partition magic to make changes. The software used in this case was Norton Ghost 2002. Has anyone encountered this, know a fix? Share this post Link to post
OLEerror 0 Posted September 27, 2001 Did he run sysprep before ghosting? Share this post Link to post
Sandaasu 0 Posted September 27, 2001 No, he didn't. It appeared to me that that was just to prevent PCs from getting confused on a network by having the same ID though. In this case, the old drive will be erased. Share this post Link to post
Sandaasu 0 Posted September 27, 2001 Ah, looks like they added an activation reset to it for XP, and it worked, thanks. Share this post Link to post
