Drivespeed 4 Linux?

Recommended Posts

Hello, does exist something like Nero Drivespeed (Windows) for Linux?

I like watching movies in mplayer but I don´t want every movie copy to disk and my 48x Toshiba is very noisy at high speed. Where I can get something to reduce CD-ROMs rotations? Thank

I've never fooled with this, but I think you might be able to make some corrections with hdparm. Don't take my word for it though, better get more information frome someone who knows more about it, as I know practically nothing..

for everybody who need it (I found it laugh )

1) mount -o speed=<speed>

2) hdparm -E <speed> (were near Dapper Dan :-))

3) eject -x <speed>

4) cdspeed.
