Philipp 6 Posted August 6, 2001 Franknet has posted a review on the Compaq Presario 17XL570 notebook This was a display model, and the OS wasn´t installed, but that´s okay since it was Windows Me. Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 was installed on the Presario when we brought it home. The only thing that was missing from the package was the AC adapter--that was it. The battery, restore CD, and hot-swap drives were all included. The restore CD had Windows ME, but as we don´t care about ME, that CD wasn´t used. Adaptec´s Easy CD Creator 4 and Direct CD 3 were included on a separate disc--very helpful, even though we already have these programs. This laptop´s pointing device is a touchpad which many laptops utilize as opposed to that pencil eraser found in others--which I´ve played around with display models and hate these erasers. Of course, you can also get an optical mouse with USB and use that too if you don´t like laptop pointing devices. Read more Share this post Link to post
