Xon101 0 Posted August 2, 2001 Hello everyone. I have a ASUS A7V133 motherboard with an onboard Promise FastTrak100 Lite/Simple Controller. I have my 2 hard drives attach to it. I had no problem installing Win98 SE and Linux on it. But WinXP doens't want to. Anyone got an idea? Share this post Link to post
shineon134 0 Posted August 3, 2001 I believe that you have to have at least one harddrive installed onto the normal IDE ports to get the install program to recognise the harddrive then once you are in WINXP install the win2000 ata100 drivers and the other harddrive should be able to be used. I have not tried this because I don't have an ata100 harddrive but I know that my ata100 controller was not recognised on install I had to install the drivers after install.
