headache 0 Posted July 31, 2001 When installing XP RC1 Clean install (from hd) .... The system hang when copying files ntldr.. Primary IDE Master : ASUS CD Primary IDE Slave : Free Secondary IDE Master : Free Secondary IDE Slave : CD-R (must be slave... weird but true) On my HPT370 : (NO RAID ARRAY) bios 1.03b1 Primary Master: Maxtor 30GB ATA/100 = NTFS 2 partitions 8 - 22 Secondary Master: Quantum 20 GB ATA/66 = FAT32 (\I386 is there) If I clean install WIN2K then upgrade all is ok... otherwise.. if I attempt a clean install from within win2k (gui mode)... same problem. I'm not sure if it has something to do with hpt370 or not. Share this post Link to post
Deviant 0 Posted July 31, 2001 Hi! Because I am too lazy to burn an iso image I have always installed XP (beta,RC1,RC2) from my HD. I am using HPT370 without any problems during the installation with driver 1.03.b after pushing F6... D. Share this post Link to post
