Quake3 not as fast as it should be

Hi,

 

Quake3 is not as fast as it should be! check:

 

1.27: 106 fps

1.17: 107 fps

 

My specs:

 

Win2k SP2

Asus A7V

Duron 850Mhz @ 1071Mhz

Asus v7700 GeForce2 GTS 32Mb (using Det 12.90)

Micron CAS2 PC133 256Mb

Maxtor 30Gb 7200

 

Help!!

Could you please post your timedemos?

I have a similar setup than yours. What is your setting in quake3? resolution color debth? Any changes on the video card via the control panael like FSAA and antiospotic filtering? I can do a bunch of time deom's but would rather set everything like yours and do it.

seem to only be able to play some d34thm4tch demo

 

on 1.29 I get 129 fps

 

P3 800 @896Mhz, 384mb pc 133 cl2, Geforce 2 GTS 32mb, Maxtor 40gig 5400rpm ATA 100.

I get 95fps in 800x600 and 87 fps in 1024 x 768 in that demo. A 35fps difference is a lot, I know quake3 is optimized for p3s but still.

 

You got win2k installed in ACPI or Standard??

I gotta try reinstalling win2k in standard mode, I'm pretty sure that ACPI shiznit is messing things up, all those devices on IRQ9....

I dont think thats what he means, he means that the overall fps is not as high as other peoples, not the difference between the two versions. Correct me if im wrong smile

yeah ..mistake by me ..

 

i gotten use to people talking about driver version = this frame rate

type of stuff
