  1. Well personally I find the InteliTXT one of the most annoying aspects of any website. Anything that blocks the view of what I am trying to read means I won't be back to that site so let's see how much revenue they generates for them with NO visits. Sites need to figure out if they are going to be nothing more then advertisements or an actually usefull website. I spend Less and less time on the net because it has become nothing more then a money generating monster that panders only to advertisements.

If a website wants to use adds then fine. put all the ADS one one page off the main page and if someone wants to waste time browsing ads then they can go to that page and clic away. If I want to waste my time with ads I'll watch tv but PLEASE PLEASE give me at least one place in the world where I can relax and get AWAY from all this constant annoying advertising!

and remember that those ads generate the revenue just because they are there not because anyone actually wants them there!

  2. shot in the dark here but try this. Run the game in a window instead of full screen and try and save and see if it still crashes. I'm finding posts similar to yours and that seemed to be the solution posted by Valve. And if it does save then it is (or might be) an issue with your vid card sharing system memory.

  3. Okay, One thing I notice is that your driver date is 2005 so you might want to look at up[censored] your video drivers and see if that helps HOWEVER to be quite honest with you your integrated graphics may not support HL2 and you MAY need to look at getting an actual video card (as opposed to one that is built into the motherboard)

I think that, that is your main problem and that up[censored] the integrated drivers may not do much to resolve the issue.

Now I could be wrong as I only had time to do a quick Google search but I found a few posts with peeps who had the same integrated video asking advice on good video cards to replace the onboard as they were having issues playing HL2.

  4. We need more system specs then you are providing. what type of cpu, video card, how much memory you have etc. Unfortunetly the information you provided is too little to help us diagnose the solution for you.

  5. first off you need to give us your specs for your pc.

also disable automatic reboot from Start>Setting>controlpanel>system

then clic on the advanced tab and go into setting at the startup and recovery option. get rid of the checkmark next to automatically reboot

that should at least (hopefully) give you an error message instead of a reboot.

  6. The old posts can come in handy but it is rather funny when I see someone respond to a thread (and I have done this myself lol) that is 5-6 yrs old offering a solution. I guess the person responding does not notice that the last post was in 2001 or something like that.

  7. Also and this could be a long shot but I had this happen to me when it would keep freezing at the setup screen. Make sure you do not have any USB devices plugged in that give access to SD cards etc. I had my printer plugged in (which has a SD card slot) and for some reason XP kept seeing it and trying to use it as a primary drive.

So unplug ANY and all usb devices before the setup.

  8. is it possible that for some reason it is sharing the same drive assignment (C: or D:) as something else in they system?

try this in case, right clic My Computer and choose manage then go to drive management and see what drive letter was assigned to the

CD Rom clic on it and choose to change the drive letter assignment and choose something other then what it took by default and see if it gets picked up.

  9. for error code 800450006 I found this

Your player *must* support playback of the protected files to sync them to work correctly. Your need to see if your player does support them and upgrading the firmware if applicable.

As for your first error code... well welcome to the MS world of DRM and being treated like a pirate or criminal for wanting to copy your own LEGALLY purchased music... WMP11 sucks and should be avoided at all costs IMHO.

  10. I think you have a ground issue and your passing current through the board. You may need to remove all your components then the motherboard and check to make sure the board is sitting properly in the case.

  11. WHAT.... Not good at all!! and what metal plate are the sparks coming from? do you mean the metal plate for the usb (where you plug in)or the metal plate where all the different connections are at the back of the PC.

You may have a SERIOUS ground issue and I would not use that PC till you resolve this as you may endup frying all your components

  12. Most errors you get like that when installing is either a dirty CD/DVD or in most cases bad ram. If you have two sticks of ram take one out and try again, if you get the same error then swap the sticks and try one more time.

More then likely one stick is bad (hopefully you don't have just the one stick of ram then you might be stuck going out to buy another one)
