I've seen this for a PDA, but not a PC.

I agree with the EZCD Sucks, but I don't really like CDRWIN either. These guys are stuck on what they know and won't venture into new territory!!!

Does anyone know where I can find instructions to create an ISO image (filename xxxxx.iso) using Nero? I know how to burn them, but I would like to create an ISO image (filename xxxxx.iso) that EZCD would be able to burn.
I use Nero and other co-workers use EZCD and I don't want to have to make multiple images - 1 for Nero and 1 for EZCD. Images made with Nero are named xxxx.nrg and cannot be read by EZCD.
They have removed this feature from EZCD!!!!

Time to format the other drive:
From Help and Support
"The designated recovery agent should export the data recovery certificate and private key to disk, secure them in a safe place, and delete the data recovery private key from the system. In this way, the only person who can recover data for the system is the person who has physical access to the data recovery private key."

If you are using Outlook Express:
\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\[address]\Microsoft\Outlook Express

I've had Explorer (NOT INTERNET EXPLORER or WINDOWS EXPLORER) crash and restart on it's own a few times. Not all the tray icons reappear. The apps are still running though, as seen in task manager applications and processes.
If you leave your PC on all the time this may be happening when you are not on it.
Explorer is still used as the desktop interface.
To test, go into Task Manager and kill the explorer.exe process. If it doesn't auto restart, may take a minute or two, goto to Applications tab and press new task. Type explorer and hit enter. The desktop will reappear with some tray icons missing.

The digital out on mine works fine with XP and Creative drivers.

Only way to get rid of these updates is to uninstall O2K and reinstall without the patches. The only ones you need to aviod are the Outlook Security Update and SP2.

This one is free. I have been using a version of it for about 5 years. I have the newest version installed on XP with no issues.

I had a PC that when I installed an additional stick of 256MB (same manufacture: Crucial, speed, etc) the PC blue screened right off the bat.
I decided to do a rebuild and rebuilt the PC with both sticks and it was fine from then on.
Weirder things happen!!!!!

One of the bigest differences between Home and Pro is that Home cannot connect to a domain.
As for OS Compatability they are the exact same.

DirectX 8.1
in Games
DirectX 8.1 is now available, but when going to Microsoft to download it says the file does not exist. I can get it for 9X/ME, but now 2000.

Well the "best" is pretty much a user preference.
Like I stated above, I did install Nero 5.5.4.0 and it works fine. From a user standpoint I see no difference between 5.5.4.0 and 5.5.5.1.
-
If 5.5.4.0 is working then wouldn't the ASPI drivers be there?
Are there newer ones that are not included in 5.5.5.1, but it uses?
-
For those who installed Nero and now have no CD-ROM drives:
After installing WINXP and Nero 5.5.5.1 all my CD-ROM drives were not working. They all showed in Device manager with the yellow !. It said the drivers were there, but the hardware could not be started.
I removed Nero and the drives came back. I then installed Nero 5.5.4.0 and it seems to work fine. Upgraded to 5.5.5.1 and the drives were gone again. Guess I'm staying with 5.5.4.0 until it can be resolved.
Just my $.02

Any settings for Wake on Modem? In BIOS maybe?

Have either of you tried running the app in Compatability mode?

This is why I am afraid to rebuild my main PC to XP. I have heard horror stories about the SB LIVE! and XP.
Can anyone tell me if this seems to be happening with VIA chipset boards, or is it with different chipsets?
I know there were problems with VIA and SB LIVE!'s, but are the mobos that work non-VIA or did XP fix those problems?
TIA
