ok, i recently had my 5400RPM Seagate U series 5 Harddrive fail alltogether. Its currently at the shop and i will be getting a new one on monday. Is it worth paying £22 extra to replace it for a 7200RPM or is there not much difference in this? ok! i should have Windows.NET Server by tomorrow morning and im just wondering what drivers Windows.NET Server uses? Does it use Windows XP drivers ok or not? Thankyou! Is there any good sites that have details on .Net Server and have drivers and downloads?

Ok i just installed .NET Server and for some reason it will only use the classic windows theme any ideas why?

im sad to say i have the identical problem, this problem is very ocasional tho. I have a lite-on 1610B and I have a 40x Compaq CDDrive connected on the same IDE and my compaq stops responding occasionally when i put a cd in it, all it does is nothing what so ever. dead as a door nail but if i restart the computer everything works wonders, i have tried every update on the Windows Update and its still the same. Maybe a bug in the Lite-on drives but anyway i suppose il have to live with it!

Already had a cooler stuck under my 5400RPM. Thanx for your help guyz

You should make things clearer in the future, As i said i have found the same thing maybe this is a bug in the new version of plus. Be patient and wait for a new version.

have u tried to update the writer support from the windows update? Otherwise theres nothing i can tell u

Cant he just used Windows XP writing software or use nero?

As i said earlier i had this problem, just a few days ago my harddrive failed on me so i would check everythings ok with ur drive. The drive went really slow all of a sudden and it couldn't even keep up with my burn-proof writer, writing at 4x to a CDR-W. unbelievable, so i should have a replacement by tomorrow .

I was wondering this myself, but i was running version 4.5 of msn on 1.41c of plus and that would let me hide the advertisement. So it must be the new msn thats stopping it from being hidden. Maybe the next version of plus will allow you to hide the advertisement in msn. But for now we are stuck with it.

I'd just like to say that i have never had an Intel chip and i am very proud of AMD especially for there prices and for there gaming capabilities. As for Intel i dont plan on buying one of there chips ever. I think AMD Have done very well to get to where they are today and one question what happened to cyrix are those chips still in production or have they stopped altgether? Shop that i got my hdd from sells the faster ones at £22 more which is a bit of a rip off but i can only get a replacement so i either have to get a 5400 or spend £22.

That sounds more like bad clusters mate than anything else, i wud check it for bad clusters, my old drive started doing that and it turned out to be bad clusters, just 1 or 2 sitting on the windows partition

My Motherboard is a Gigabyte 71XE4 and i have a GeForce 2 MX200, when i run any benchmark programs, they report my AGP as 1x, as far as i know this M/Board supports 2x any ideas why its at 1x, iv been in the bios and through the manual and theres no mention of the agp speed rate. thanx AMD 1.2 Athlon thunderbird 512MB Hyundai PC133 RAM

I have the same problem, i have a seagate 5400RPM 40GB on DMA Mode 4. Doesnt take ages to boot just takes a long time to open up internet explorer, etc but yet on windows me/98 it loads up faster than anything iv ever seen. To be honest i think windows XP should still be in BETA Mode as nothing has really gone right in this version of windows, according to Microsoft its faster that Windows98 but in my experience windows 98 is a lot faster on every computer iv seen windows xp on.
