    SB Live 1024

Hi, I have absolutely no problems with the live 1024 card and a live value on several installations of win2k as far as you describe. Perhaps it is your mobo, please give more info...... Chris

    Detonator 6.49

So far with all the 6.xx drivers I have been unable to perform a cold boot, it always halted at the first light blue screen with no mouse arrow, performing a reset made it boot ok. These seem to be working fine, so far, performed a cold boot this morning and it was ok, fingers crossed. Chris

Mine worked fine too, maybe you should think before you post and then you'd be able to use more appropriate language!!!!!

Whats wrong with these 6.xx detonators?

I posted an exact same query last week, didn't get any useful replies aside from, 'my system works ok'. My problem is the same as yours and reverting back to the detonator 2 drivers does indeed cure the problem. I doubt if it is related to the hardware specs as my system has only the SB Live card in common with yours. I know that other people have had this issue as I have seen posting on MS newsgroups but as yet noone has been able to come up with a cure. Chris

    Need a Win2k Webcam quickly.

Go for the 3com Homeconnect, installs and works perfectly under w2k. Brilliant image and up to 60fps over a network.... Chris

    TNT2 M64 & Nvdia drivers

Hi, hoping that someone out there can help me. I have a TNT2M46 vid card from Guillemot and have had a problem with Nvdia's Detonator 3 drivers, both 6.18 and now 6.27 as well. The problem is that when I do a completely cold boot in w2k it stalls on the very first blue screen, at a point of initialising the vid drivers I think, with no mouse arrow. Upon re-setting it the boots ok and has no further problems. If I ever do a warm or a cold re-boot there is no problem, only when I leave the PC for some time.If I go back to the Det2 drivers I have no problems at all. Also I have seen postings on the MS newsgroup with other users having the same problem. My m/board is SE440BX-2,256mb of ram, SB Live Gamer(wonderful card) Running w2k Professional OS. I thank you in advance, Chris

    TNT2 M64 & Nvdia drivers

Sorry but it is a worthless exercise posting up replies that say, 'well my system is working ok'. I need answers and solutions please, I know that I am not alone with this problem so there must be someone out there that has a solution to it. Ty, Chris

    Direct X 8 Beta - oops!

Hi, two points, firstly win2k uses dx7 not dx7.0a, it isn't compatible, and secondly, there are references to this issue elsewhere in this message forum. Have you tried searching for the file uninstdx8.exe on your system? That will remove it and return you back to dx7 ok. Chris

    GP3 + MS FF Wheel

Hi, yes the 4.0 version is the only one that'll work with the wheel in w2k, sorry don't know if you can get an upgrade for your software. Chris

Looking for a Win2k Friendly GamePad

Hi, I have a PC Powerpad that I use with it's standard drivers on w2k. It is made by Interact and sold by PC World. Has analoge and digital joystick/pad, 9 buttons and a throttle. Mine works fine in FS200 and GP2, infact all of the driving games I've used. Chris

    GP3 + MS FF Wheel

Hi, I don't have the MS FF wheel, just the none FF one, it works fine with GP3, brakes, throttle everything including left foot braking. Use the standard settings, no schemes, note that on the CD there is a control set for the sidewinder precision steering wheel. Chris

    DO NOT install Norton BETA!!

Listen man, I don't how come you are posting this stuff, and why but lets have some objective reasoned comments. Just saying don't install Norton AntiVirus beta is purely scaremongering. Details please, might add that seeing as you seem to be having so many problems with your system, which, by the way, I am not having with mine, I would look to your setup. Simply not enough to post up comments like that without details as to your system.... Chris
