It's actually really easy, you may notice a dos based program called cmd.exe running in the task bar, if you right click on it and tell it to terminate (or terminate it in some other way) the install will finsih successfully, and you should be able to play.

You might look for a BIOS update for the motherboard. The other problem was with Windows actual identifying the controller. Try forcing generic drivers on it (like I described before) if you have the latest BIOS. You might also see if there is a USB fix for the motherboard.

Try moving the slot your dxr3 card is in. I had the same problem (before I got my U66). There are some IRQs that the dxr3 really hates. I've had it working on 9 (if you can get it there) pretty well. It shares the IRQ with the sound card, and never had a problem with it.

Just click the current USB driver, go to Update, then choose "Display a list...." and pick "VIA USB Universal Host" or PCI to USB. It should pick up from there.

When I tried running it after patched, I got garbled graphics and a lot of skipping. K6-3 450 Stealth 3 S540 (Savage4) Voodoo2 SLI (No DirectX) MX300

The current drivers for the V2s are Glide only.

I experience the lockup mostly when pictures are loading on IE5, full-screen movies (or some menus opening in menus), and in games. Homeworld will lock up every time I go into the build menu. I'm running a K6-3 450 SOYO ETEQ (Modified VIA Chipset) 128 MB Ram Dual Boot 98Se/2k Diamond Stealth 3 S540 (Drivers suck!!) Diamond MX300 (Drivers suck!!) Ultra/66 Voodoo2 SLI Netgear 201 I'm thinking it is the video card drivers and possibly a problem with the agp port, or with dual boot. The other thing I've noticed is quite a few people have controller cards (SCSI, UltraDMA4 cards, etc). Maybe Win2k is getting some weird conflict with these?

Win2K is a Business Application OS. But the guys at Microsoft are working on a version of Win2k that is gamer oriented. "Neptune" is expected out in about a year, but it will be the Win2K kernal with gamers in mind.

I had the same problem with sound cutouts. There are two solutions. 1.. Everytime the sound cuts out, reinstall the vortex2 drivers included with Win2k, you don't even have to restart. (this is the annoying fix.) 2.. You have to follow the exact steps to install the Beta Vortex2 drivers. I kept getting the cutout, and couldn't use the Aureal Control Panel until I followed the steps. http://downloads.aureal.com/pub/Public/Drivers/Vortex/WDM_INSTALL.doc They worked fine after that.
