somthing dammaged the file on your computer when you restarted i guess. i had something similar to that happen, where that file got currupt...

Here is the answer, you need to make sure all of your drives are not using dma mode, they need to put in pio mode only, that is the only thing i can do to make it work.

I have that same card. it was go good in 9x, but it is **** in 2000. it dosent work. i got a new card. it just just does not work.

try reinstalling the driver for you keyboard. see if that works.

PIO mode suX0rz. in windows 2000 has anyone had trouble installing the "green cd" software that came with the setup package. when i go to install the WinpoET software, it says that i dont have an ethernet card, but i do. anyone have this same problem. and also, i ordered dsl on the 30th but they say they have to build a profile for me and i will access on april 20th, what is up with that... is this some weed day 4/20. columbine aniversery and hitler birthday plot to screw me over on a broadband dream? When i first got my copy of windows 2000 i was unable to install it. i would get to the blue screen after restarting and it would look up all that hardware stuff then it would give that msg on the bottom of the screen saying that windows 2000 is now setting up or something like that. I would wait, the keyboard lights and my explorer mouse would flash on, so i would wait longer... nothing. nothing would ever happen..... I finaly tried installing it on my friends computer and it did easly. finaly after blowing up and pissing a night away working on this and not seeing my girlfriend we desided to kinda like jump the computer, like wiht a car battery. I took my machine to his house, and pluged my hd into his mobo, i turned on my power, then he did the same to his. install was a brease. but when i put it in to my machine it still would not fully boot. i couldent get past the main screen. i got it into safe mode and i turned off Dma for the hardrives and it worked. Well a little ago i messed up some stuff and i needed to do the recovery mode, and i got that same blue screen just sitting there with nothing happening. well i kinda want to do a clean install soon since i have put in and out so much differend hardware and the comptuer is still retaining alot of hidden stuff about my friends comptuer i believe. I want to install this. mabey i need to flash my bios. i have a biostar m7mka mobo. does anyone know if there is a bios upgrade for it that is working in windows 2000?

I have a windows 2000 box, and my sister has an imac blah i know blah. anways, i am having trouble networking them. i am using a linksys dsl router and i got my dsl modem but i dont have the dsl service yet(they said they need to build my profile first). anways i am just now trying to network the mac to the pc so i can atleast have them networked. my question is should i be using tcpip to network them or appletalk, i have tried both and i have knowledge of tcpip because i am in cisco class at school. i tried appletalk but was unsuccessful, does anyone know how to hook up these two computer, and in the future know how to hook them up with shared dsl connections.... please help. ------------------ Amd k7 500 w/ 3dnow and mmx. :: 192 mb sd100 ram. What would happen if you took a fiber optic cable that was wrapped around the earth a couple times flashed a laser into it, and then connected both ends of the fiber optic cable before the light left the cable. light goes for ever, so would it keep going if the connection was 100% flush with with the other end of the cable? this is a common problem i have heard and (not heard... no sound haha, joke, ha, nevermind), with vortex drivers.... to get mine to work , i looked for all au* and vortex, drivers and files. in all the directorys, i deleted them then i donloaded the newest drivers from aureal.com the new beta drivers are out. get them, and install it again. it may help to go to your c:/winnt/driver cache/i386/ and rename the driver.cab to somthing like driverx.cab.... this way when you restart to install the card it will not load up the default sheit drivers. instead tell it to look in your directory where you extracted the downloaded drivers. if some of them are not in there, look for them in yoru winnt folder or winnt/system32, or just do a search for that file and point it in the right direction. this has been the best way for me to get em to work. now laugh at this picture i made ------------------ Amd k7 500 w/ 3dnow and mmx. :: 192 mb sd100 ram.
