  1. I have to se DMA enabled and that's because I have only one cd-rom drive and I don't want my drive to hog nearly 100% cpu time when reading a disk.

But I think I have found sollution.

I have KT7-RAID and I used 106MHz FSB (8.5 multiplier) IDE was 33MHz but that matters for Plextor. Now I have 100 FSB (9.0x) and 33MHz IDE and my Plextor seems to work alright. 10 succesful test burns with those settings.

  2. Disabling / enabling didn´t help when last time I got this problem. I didn´t check ipconfig's output.

    Here's my setup:

    Only TCP/IP installed on W2K

    One Windows 98 computer

One Linux conputer configured as firewall / router.

  3. Again one lockup with these shiny new drivers. Now it locked up only after 8 hours had passed from last reboot.

With 5.32 drivers longest uptime was a little bit over three weeks and then I had to reboot to install Service Pack 1. So, back to 5.32 drivers. Only thing that I miss from 6.18 drivers is working mouse cursor. Performance comes only second to stability.

    My system :

    Abit BP6 2x400@552 Celeron

    256Mb RAM

    Asus 32Mb TNT2

  4. Anyone had lockups with these new drivers? I just had one complete lockup, dislay just freezed. I didn't have this problem with 5.22 drivers.

Mouse cursor seems to be fixed in this release althou.

  5. Setting AGP 1X really helps. With 5.30 drivers my system has been up for 13 days with games and RC5 running all the time. Anyone who got stability problems try lowering your AGP speed.

Only TNT2 related problem I'm still having is with disappearing "text-selection" mouse cursor.

  6. How long have you been able to keep your Windows running before it crashes with NVidia's drivers?

I had over two weeks with Matrox G200 (had to reboot machine to install new software, so it did'n crash)

Now with Asus TNT2 longes period is 5 days. Usualy I get 2-3 days and then lockup or K_MODE error.

    My system :

Abit BP6 (dual celeron) board version 1.0

    Asus V3800

    256MB RAM

    Plextor 8/4/32 CD-R

    IBM 14.5GB

    Seagate 6.5GB

  7. I had also problems with Abit's BP6 with newer bioses. Now I'm using old NJ bios witn 5.22 drivers and it seems to run pretty stable.

(Althou once in 4 days some of services crashes and starts to eating all memory. Taskmanager shows no processes running and after a log out I can't log in because all free memory and swap are used. Any clues?)

What BP6 version do you have? 1.1 versions have had some stability problems. Check some v1.1 related topics here :

  8. I'm having a strange problem with Easy CD Creator 4.02 + Windows 2000 + Plextor 8423 CDR-drive.

I can burn normal data-cds without problems, but when I try to burn Audio CDs Easy CD creator just stops burning CD after it has wroted TOC (I'm burning in DAO-mode). I can't even kill Easy CD Creators process from Task Manager after it has stopped.

And couple of minutes after Easy CD Creator has stoped, W2K just brings up Bluescreen saying that process has locked pages and starts to dumb memory.
