  1. Hi There,

I have my modem on my laptop, and I usually use the ICS in order to surf on my desktop. but for 2 days now, after I did a win2k installation from scratch I am unable to enable the ICS on my Win2KPro machine.

the message I am getting is as follows :

Error 783: Internet Connection sharing cannot be enabled. The Lan connection

selected as the private network is either not presented or is disconnected from

the network. Please ensure that the LAN adapter is connected before enabling ICS.

My computer is already setted to the internal IP address and I have no problems accessing my desktop from my laptop or vice versa. Only ICS refuses to work.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Oren

  2. Hi,

Damn , I waited enough for that LiveWave and now it gives me lotta problems!

I did a CLEAN install for Windows 2000 Pro.

Installed the LiveWare 3.0 and it seems to be going okay.

Computer got rebooted. Windows 2k is up and running, I opened the AudioHQ and then double clicked on Speakers or Mixer and I immediately get an pop up windows which its title is "Creative Surround Mixer" and it says "failed to load Plugins"

    Anyone has any clues???

    Thanks,

    Oren

  3. Fellows,

The SideWinder 4.0 is for USB products!

And it is a joystick-specific (i.e. if you buy a wheel you'll get the wheel's drivers only).

I could install it on Win2K but then I realize it helpless since I dont have a USB (I got the drivers from someone here).

So make sure you get what you need!

PS, I could install my Non-USB (Wheel,ForceFeedback,Gamepad and FreeStyle Pro) all under Win2K with no special software btw.

  4. Yo!

I was wondering does Windows ME (Final) is a multilingual OS such as Win2K?

I need Hebrew,Chinese,Korean and Japanese in Particular, In Windows 2K it works perfectly for me, the Win2K itself is totally in English but allows me to work on documents of the languages I mentioned above smoothly, all I had to do is to add them at the "General" tab and the "Input Locales" tabs of Regional Settings.

And by that while using Office 2K I can write and edit documents at those languages

So, would I be able to do it at WinME as well? or I need to wait for a Language Enabled version for the desired language I need? (Just like it happened to me in win98!)

    Thanks beforehand,

    Oren

  5. Strange ..

I could install mine in Windows 2000 Pro.

The driver CD that was supplied with mine (ver 5.x) had the Windows 2000 Drivers, however, the software itself doesnt work under Win2K hence I uses Netmeeting only and cant take snapshots/movies etc!

Anynews regarding when they are going to releases a Win2K compatible Software? or it is due with the drivers for next week?

  6. Hi All,

    I am going mad already!

I run Windows 98SE and Windows 2000 Pro on my machine which I will list

    it peripherals in a few.

The problem I encounter is random locks up in Windows 98SE ONLY.

Windows 2000 Pro seems to be running stable as a horse.

Win98SE seems to hang after a while playing 3D game, or even after decoding

    MP3's.

    This is my computer :

Pentium Celeron 433 (Not Overclocked!) with the simplest PPGA to Slot 1 Adapter.

    256 PC-100 RAM (64,64,128)

    ASUS P3B-F Bios 1005 Final

    Asus V3800U TNT2 Ultra Deluxe (Asus 5.16 Final@Win98,Asus 3.xx Final@Win2k)

Sound Blaster Live! Platinum (LiveWare3@Win98,LiveWare 2K@Win2k)

    LiveDrive II

Diamond Monster MX-300 (Aureal 2048 Drivers)

    Quantum EX 10.1GB HDD

    WD 6.4GB HDD

    Teac X32 IDE CDROM

    Toshiba X40 SCSI CDROM

    Yamaha 4260 x2x4x6 SCSI CDRW

    RealTek 8029 PCI NIC

    Logitech QuickCam Express USB

Sidewinder FreeStyle Pro USB and Force Feedback

I do not overclock one bit (at least not now)

Tempratures seems to be alright, so does voltages.

Any leads from here ??? anyone??

I'd appriciate if someone can CC me at : shibumi@netvision.net.il

    Thanks,

    Oren

  7. hi All,

I noticed that someone at NTcompatible reported that he could install the MS Game Profiler ver 4.0 while 3.02/2.0 has failed..

I was looking at MS homepage and could not find any traces for version 4..

Anyone can tell me where can I get it from ????

    Thanks,

    Oren
