    Direct3D with Viper V550 and win2k

The 3.75 drivers that everyone is talking bout are in my opinion the best TNT drivers. I also have a v550 and it kicks the most ass with 3.75 reference drivers. You'll find a link for it in this msg board, I think Eliteman has a post in the hardware section. In any case you're not going to find any working reference drivers from Diamond (they go sold to S3 - they don't endorse nvidia) or nVidia (they don't want to make beta drivers for the "beta" Windows 2000. good luck --- riz

    Soldier of Fortune demo

Okay, I'm rebooting in 3.69 and locking my desktop up in 3.75. I guess one way to solve this problem is what was suggested: that we post our brief system specs. And no, SoF is not crashing because of my P2 300! Oh yeah what AGP aperture size do you have set on your BIOS? I had 64, I tried 128, didn't make a difference. riz ------------------------------------- Intel 440lx mobo w/ PII-300 192Mb RAM Viper v550 (TNT) AGP 6.4Gb IDE HD(fat32), 1 CDROM, 1 CD-R Yamaha PCI sound (betcha this is it!) For NT People (I think)

Okay, I've never used NT at all, Win2000 is my first attempt at NT. The problem I have is that although I have one login for myself on my computers (and I obviously have Admin privileges), but when I install a game or software on my system, it sometimes adds the Start Menu items under my name and sometimes under the "ALL USERS" name in the Document & Settings Folder. IT does this also with the shortcuts on the desktop. I see everything that I want on the screen, but it's sorta annoying when you're trying to look at your start menu folder and you have to keep switching back and forth in explorer to see which shortcut is placed under what name. Any thoughts on how to make it so that all shortcuts/software/etc is always installed under ALL USERS or something? Help much appreciated, heh riz

    Mechwarrior 3

hey what's up i just tried reinstalling mech3 and right after it copies files, i get an error that says "Cannot run Unicode version of ATL.dll on Windows 95. Please install the correct version." Maybe that's why mech 3 is crashing whenever i go to a game and press any key on the keyboard? DId you guys also get this error when installing?
  6. What's up all, I just noticed that on my machine if I hibernate and then restart the computer (with APM turned off), then I get the volume control icon in the taskbar (which i removed from control panel:audio & multimedia). Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem. No big deal, just that if you don't want the volume control in the taskbar it gets a little annoying to have to remove everytime. Heh. riz

    Windows 2000 Joystick Problem

HEY! I fixed the problem, I think it was the Detonator 3.69 drivers for my TNT, I installed the new 3.75 drivers and I was surprised to see my Sidewinder have OK status without being Not Connected! So, if you have a nvidia card, try out the new driver (Ekstreme has a post on it) and let me know, YES! I dont' know about force feedback though, i'll have to try that out now.. riz

    can't read memory error ???? -w2kpro final

I believe it's when the swap file is too small. It happens to me when I play UT with only 64Mb Ram, try increasing the size of your swap file to 2.5x your physical memory size. Hopefully it'll work riz

    NEW TNT drivers!! v3.75

Damn, you're right! 3.75 just beat the crap out of 3.69 and left it bloodied outside of the system folder. Finally my UT will actually move with me getting more sound from my hard drive than in the game, hehe thanks, riz

Eliteman, what kind of system do you have? I'm having the same probs as DiGiT but i didn't run any patches or anything. I thought it was my Sidewinder Force Feedback joystick, but i guess it ain't Pentium II 300Mhz (crap) 64Mb PC100 (crap - but i'm getting 192) Yamaha PCI Audio (crap) Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro Windows 2000 Build 2195

    Windows 2000 Joystick Problem

Man, I have the same problem. I've got a Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro, and it's connected to a crappy ass Yamaha card, and every few seconds the joystick goes from "OK" status to "Not Connected". I can't play any of my games 'cause the joystick is crashing them. Did you manage to fix this problem?
