  1. Hi, are trying to install from Backoffice-CD's ?

If so, try running Setup.exe from \SQLXX\i386 rather then the "default" installationprogram...

This is something I have read/heard somewhere, can't remember where...

    Give it a try..

This VPN thing is SO EASY to set up, there's even a wizard for it...

Check the help-files on your Startmenu..

At least give it a TRY before posting..

  3. Hi !

If you think it "hangs" at 99% of extraction, just wait awhile. The installation will start after 10-30 seconds....

I've had this problem with alot of installations, but it do work..

    Try it out..

  4. IE5.5 is working ok on my system, just two things i have to check with with you..

    1. Where is that thing in the statusbar: serching for www.ntcompatible.com, website found , waiting for reply..(I REALLY miss that thing)

    2. When a website's not found and you get the page: click here to refresh, click here to check your networksettings bla bla. I don't have the "refresh-link" anymore, instead I have to click the refresh-icon on the toolbar. (This sucks)

    Anyone else noticed this ?

  5. Ok, for solution nr1:

From Control Panel enter Users and Passwords, Advanced, Advanced, Users folder, Double-click Guest, Uncheck Account is disabled. (This is not recommended in a corporate envirement, but for homenetworking it's ok.)

    nr2:

At the same place where you could enable the guest account, create a new user. This user should have the same username/password as the user on WinME (This for not having to enter a password each time he/she wants to access your shares). You don't have a password created for your "default user" on the WinMe computer(blank) otherwise you should have to enter username+password to log in when booting WinME, so just create the user in Win2k (If you're not sure about the username, its the username from the installation of WinME. You can check startmenu Log off XXXX, XXXX is the usernamne) with a blank password and you should be set..

    Good luck.
