)Anyway, cephraim is talking about *NT4*. There is no DX8 for NT...
If I remember correctly SP3 gives you DX3.
Who can give us that old patch ? I have been looking through my old backups...no to be found..
It would be nice playing some cl***ic games at work during christmas...

Can you play in a higher res than 640*480 ?
It crash for me on execution in any higher resolution

Before you do that, burn at least one of those ISO's and delete it since NTFS has some overhead compared to FAT.

Copy this:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=dword:00000019
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=dword:00000019
and paste it into a textfile (notepad), save it with a .reg extension, run it...
Or just add the key in the registry yourself.
Now you can download 19 files istead of 4
(You can change the value 19 to something else if you want).

No it is not enough, copy the backuped files to C:\, boot from the CD, repair, erd, let windows locate your installation, choose manual (not fast) and check everything but systemfiles...
done..

Under Folder Options, File Types (in explorer). Check advanced on .INF
Edit the action Install, it should be:
C:\WINNT\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %1
I'm not sure it will work, but check if its missing...
