Is the XP serial key stored in the registry?
CHAOSMAN replied to Curley_Boy's topic in Customization & Tweaking
http://xpkeyviewer.freeservers.com/main.html allows you to view your xpkey, dunno why you need to, i always write mine behind my keyboard on a sticky note incase i loose it, but use that for whatever purpose, worked fine when i tried it on home edition so i assume it works on pro, i dont condone piracy in anyway i hope sp1 locks you all out! -

im on a home lan, using a linksys 4 port router and a linksys lne100TX network card. I installed my network card drivers, and immediatly im able to go on the net without setting anything up, but the problem is that a dialog box always pops up the first time i open explorer and tells me it cant find server, it asks for me to go offline or retry. I press retry and my net works perfectly fine, but it really becomes irritation pressing retry every time i reboot and open IE. anyone know any workarounds to this? TIA

i found this on the 3dfxgamers board..not my post MS solved the following problems with HL running under Win2K after installing the the May Compatibility Update: 1) Program will not start if desktop is set to 32bit color. 2) Program will not begin 3D mode if 3dfx mini-GL or Wicked-GL is installed. The solution is easy. Download: http://home.carolina.rr.com/esmith/halflife.inf Then right click the file and choose "INSTALL". Voila, problem solved. HIH, Tea" hope this helps
