  1. No see it gets to the point where the music starts playing on the main menu then it just exits a second later. I tried rebooting reinstalling it. See this is what Im fearing. I installed 1.0 first then upgraded to 2.0. And in the games compatibility list in this forum it says not to do that or it will get hosed. But I uninstalled that and then reinstalled 2.0. Question is I might need to do some type of clean install?

  2. Yes sir the same thing happens to me. I set up a spawn on my win2kbox and when I try to play a lan game it see's the game but I cant join it. It says "unable to join". I havent really messed with it I forgot about it. I was going to try maybe change a few settings on my nic because I am also having trouble with my client losing connection every 2 hours or so and I have to reboot the server. I could be wrong but I think maybe the media types my be the answer to our problem. If I figure it out I will post.

  3. It loads up I see everything up until the main title and then it exits a second later. frown I bet you there is some sort of minor tweak to fix it. Anybody tried messiah yet?

  4. You can use a partition magic bootup disk to resize it to anything providing you have the space. It also comes in real handy whenever reinstalling any kind of os. If you want I will send it to you via email or something.

  5. I used ics in win2k. I nearly **** my pants when I found how easy it was to setup. 3 clicks and I was done. just setup the clients to obtain ip and everything automatically. Right click on your cable connection (nic). And highlight tcp/ip click properties click sharing and then click enable ics. bam your done. All my clients can play multiplayer real audio ftp. everything. But security is an issue

though so you might want to sygate. I just use sybergen secure desktop for a firewall that works pretty good in win2k.

  6. It should work for you I have a v3 2000 with beta drivers. I remember I did once have a problem with ogl where the screen would turn bloody red. I found out that I had left an old oem.inf file in my winnt directory. I dont know if that could cause it but win2k seems to like to replace drivers without you knowing so you have to delete all existing files related to voodoo.

    oem*.*

    voodoo*.*

    glide*.*

    3dfx*.*

Make sure you delete in safe mode or it wont work win2k will just put them back. Ok so you do have the 1/26/2000 drivers? The older betas were crap make sure you have the newest. Then install and bang you should be good. Hope that helps.

  7. I thought the same thing once but that was after I was already spoiled with it. My famous last words were "I think I will give windows millenium a try" and after an hour of lockups hangs with the p.o.s a realized that win2k is where its at. I will never go back again.... You got to admit youll miss some of win2k.

  8. It was made to work with win2k. Just specific builds. But some of the builds need a little fixing.. I guess. Anyway I know that somebody out there is using 2195 and softice. ITs not just a cracking tool its a system debugger. alot of people use it as a standalone debugger for applications. Somebody hook me up with the nfo.

  9. Whenever I load up softice by hitting control-d softice loads fine but when I exit softice I lose all keyboard function and I cannot get it back without rebooting. Anybody here gotten softice4 to work. Does 3.25 work? I havent tried it yet?

  10. Try out win2kbox.8m.com for the new beta drivers from 3dfx. The only things that were hacked were ogl but that was because the beta wasnt ready yet. If you want to reinstall the originals from cd try this. Make a temp folder. search your i386 for oem*.* in the "containing text" field. I think there is only one but if theres more than one open each one until you see voodoo on top. Youll see it. Then look in the .inf for all the files it installs. ie check down towards the bottom there should be a list of files like voodoo.dll voodoo.sys. Grab all those files and put it in the temp folder with oem.inf . Then... uninstall your drivers and reboot to safe mode. Then search your winnt directory for glide*.* , voodoo*.*, and 3dfx*.*. And delete them all. Reboot. When it prompts you for new hardware point to the temp folder with the inf. Hope it helps.. Try chameleons first they will probobly work.

  11. When I run dxdiag in win2k it says I have direct x7 already do I still need to install the ones that say directx7 final I see everywhere like at chameleons and seldzar.
