  1. First of all, IIS 5's ftp in win2k rocks, it's very cool.

Back to the old Firewall issue, I'm currently using syshield and it's very cool, the only problem is, If I open up port 21 on the firewall, my ftp server still won't list contents....hmmmm

it only works when I shut the wall down, more investigation is needed.....

  2. Hmmm, I have no idea why UT works on mine, I installed 2128, and then installed the 3.56 drivers, without the directx files available on chameleon's site...

Then upgraded to RC3....UT came out, and voila, it ran perfectly....

still haven't tried the new ones...I don't want to upset the apple cart, Q3 and UT both scream....

  3. OK, here we go...

I have the exact same burner, and before I tried anything else...I installed the updates recommended at this adaptec site for their product ezcd creator 3.5...

    http://webcheckup.adaptec.com/ecdc-win2k/

I don't know if my burner worked prior to this, but I can run CDRwin perfectly, so it can't be that bad.

Adaptec supplies a file that you run BEFORE you install their software, I don't know what it does....could it be their aspi driver? Don't know, but it works. Check it out.

  4. It doesn't work, you get some kind of weird error about the filter not being able to start, and if you look at their forums, it seems like they're overwhelmed at the moment.

People don't like it when they can't get support...

Syshield works nicely, but I find it messes up the built in ICS, anyone have any suggestions?

When you run the firewall, the other computers on my network can't get to the net.

  5. Anyone here had any luck with the IIS 5 ftp server in win2k.

I can get people to log in, but the it won't list the contents of the directory for them.

Any help would be mucho appreciated!

  6. Well, it's actually a 366 guys...

do that with a 300? is that possible with the clock multiplier?

win2k is rock steady, it won't crash, even at 1.95 volts. 98 needs 2.1 volts, then quaking is fine...

Also, the processor being clocked at 550 seems to have made clocking my tnt2 more difficult...98's just plain unstable.

Can't wait till all the 2000 drivers are ready for prime time!

  7. So, can anyone tell me how to find out if dma is enabled on my drives...and if it isn't, how to do it?

I've got info on NT, and wonder if it applies directly to 2000.

    cheers
