btw. recently I had to reinstall win2k from scratch - I'd lost all d3d and opengl support. Didn't matter what driver I used. I wish I knew if the problem is that I'm using 2195.1 and not 2195.3..

ARCNET??? You're using ARCNET??? My best advice to you: take it out of the computer and throw it in the trash. That said if you really need to get ARCNET running on NT you need a 3rd party application (and driver). NT only supports Ethernet, Token Ring and Appletalk natively.

viper: looks to me like you unsuccessfully tried to upgrade Q3. Try applying the patch again. If that doesn't work reinstall Q3.

hmm...here's another suggestion... Try swapping the places of your pci cards...should hopefully resolve any potential resource conflicts

If you get a message about corrupt driver pool then this is bad - _very BAD_. What it basically means is reinstall, reinstall, reinstall. When you've reinstalled (ugh) try adding one and one driver - but have a copy of the hardware profile so you can go back and try again if everything fails.. The message about DMA was mainly to Andersony as his card was working but the DVD sound was f*cked up.

Try turning on DMA transfer for your DVD drive...for some reason M$ decided to set DMA default to off for all removeable drives..

sorry dude...but this really seems to be a BIOS problem!!! Win2k is much stricter with the ACPI implementation than win98se is... If you don't believe me you can always get the ACPI compliancy test from M$ and run it on your system - mine failed miserably

I have win2k pro 2195.1 ...and I have the same problem... my bp6 doesn't work in ACPI multiprocessor mode.. any suggestions.....?????

ok..here's how I did it.. install the realmagic beta drivers... then install the latest/greatest dxr3upd from creatives site (the application..not the driver). Works very nice most of the time.. I do have one dvd however that doesn't work for some reason (Iria: Zeiram), so I still have to reboot to win98se sometimes (ugh!). guess it'll be fixed in the next driver release..

Then Gerbu you're one of the luckiest people I know cause I certainly can't get it to work that way... and no one I know has got it working that way either...seems the fasttrak66 driver refuses to load properly during textsetup for some reason.

You guys with Q3 problems..are you using r_smp 1 ??? Seems nvidias opengl drivers 1.1.4 works with smp on...but in 1.1.5 you have to turn it off. You can check what version you have by checking the properties-version tab of the opengl driver file itself.

btw... Wicked has made an "unofficial" statement in the past that they're not going to support win2k unless there is a great demand for it. I'll send them a mail and ask what the status of any win2k support is..

It's quite simply Igor... The fasttrak66 is a RAID controller..the hpt isn't. The only way to get the fasttrak working on a fasttrak66 is to first install win2k on a drive on the mb. Then you install the latest and greates fasttrak66 drivers from promise. Then you ghost over the partition over to the array. Edit boot.ini so it properly reflects the position of win2k. Boot win2k on the fasttrak66 and be happy!

Has anyone got this controller working in any build whatsoever of win2k? If so what drivers/bios/build did you use? Anyone know where I can get working win2k drivers for this card?????
