How do I set up a tribes dedicated server (or any .exe) as a service in w2k server? Any help would be appreciated, thanks....

Thanks for the reply, what you described is pretty much what I am doing currently. Thanks for the info about starting up a service, gives me another option. I hope I can figure it out.

That doesn't set up tribes as a service. The instuctions you gave just starts the server. Anybody else? There has got to be a wizard for this. I am just too blind to see.

Same set up here, same error. Sounds like a game prob.

I can't get my W98 box to share my w2k server internet connection. My win2k prof comp can connect just fine. The w98 comp can browse the lan network. The server has a LAN NIC and an Internet NIC. The w98 has default gateway set at 192.168.0.1 (server lan nic ip), otherwise uses DHCP for net info. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

When I installed Win2k, it didn't have a driver for a "PCI Input device". Any clues to what this could be referring to. All the hardware I attached seems to be accounted for including the UDMA66 controller. I know I am going to kick myself once I'm told.

Unreal tournament will support SMP. The demo should be out by early next week. (wahoo!)

If I interpret this correctly, my glide/opengl games (q3/unreal) will stop working with rc2. What is the next step, wait for 3dfx to come out with a driver for w2k? V3/abit bp6

I have glide working also. Unfortunately, about a third of the time, after I exit the game, the screen is screwed up. I have to shut down the pc then. I would love to post the driver, but it doesn't work perfectly.

Whoops, yep I am going to kick myself. I think it is my joystick port on my SBlive (value). Any drivers for this available?

When I boot up my Unreal server, I notice that the program detects how many CPUs you have. This doesn't mean it supports SMP but it may be a clue of things to come with Unreal Tournament.

I have tried installing the 3dfx banshee driver using the inf. Not much luck as far as getting glide games to work. I checked the versions numbers of the files I used and compared it the readme file and they don't match. I went to the correct locations for the various driver files. Does any body have the correct files zipped up for me to use? Additionally, is there a win2k rc1 driver for a utobia usb cam? Thanks for any help...

As soon as I plug the cam in, it asks me do supply a driver. I checked the utobia web site, and they are working on a driver. I guess I was hoping someone hacked one so I would have something in the interim.

I am having problems also. I have a cable modem. I was getting 0.0.0.0 for an IP. I put in the hotfixes 1-3, now I can get the correct IP but the sub-net mask is wrong. It is coming up with the same subnet mask as my second (LAN) NIC. My computer is dual boot with W98. W98 is having no probs. Any ideas would be great!
