I received now step by step instructions how to install the Millennium G400 under Windows 2000. The instructions are now posted on Hardware Index M.

Voodoo 2 support under Windows 2000 only Glide or OpenGL ICD. There is current no Direct3D support.
-
Yes, SetDX6 support the unofficial DX5.
-
Only a few programs like Tomb Raider 2 Demo work with the unofficial DX5 for NT. There is no DX5 compatible video driver because this DX5 is ripped from NT 5.0 (Windows 2000) Beta 1. 3Dfx support current no multiprocessor. If you want play Q3 in SMP you need another SMP compatible display adapter or you must wait for new drivers. Philipp

There is current no Direct3D support on Maxi Gamer 3Dfx (Voodoo 1). -
Windows 2000 Professional support Dual processors. Philipp

The Voodoo 3 work with Windows 2000. You need only the Voodoo 3 INF file written by Anthony Toste (under downloads). If you have questions about this file, post it here. Anthony moderate this board. [This message has been edited by Philipp (edited August 09, 1999).]

Check the Windows 2000 HCL. See link right.
-
No!
-
The 3Dfx ICD OpenGL drivers (Windows NT/Windows 2000) doesn´t support SMP mode.
-
You need the AOpen TNT Drivers for Windows 2000 (work with every TNT/TNT2 ) - ftp://ftp.aopen.com.tw/pub/driver/vga/pa3010/bw2kr200.exe - to use Direct3D and OpenGL on TNT.
-
AOpen posts also Windows 2000 drivers for TNT/TNT2 based cards - ftp://ftp.aopen.com.tw/pub/driver/vga/pa3010/bw2kr200.exe
-
I think its www.mswin2k.net Btw AOpen post also Windows 2000 drivers (work with all TNT/TNT2 based cards) - ftp://ftp.aopen.com.tw/pub/driver/vga/pa3010/bw2kr200.exe - check them out too.

Yes, same in Win 9x. For Win95/98 exists a tool (HZ Tool) - http://hem.passagen.se/doxx/ that allow to select the refresh rate. I didn´t tried it on Windows 2000.
-
No, there is current no solution for this. SetDX6 is only for Windows NT 4.0.
-
I received an email that the crash after playing a map is only in Windows 2000. Quake 3 SMP/TNT2 work fine in NT 4.0 on the same configuration. Which TNT2 drivers do you use?
-
You can try to install the game with Win 9x (if you have a Win 9x partition) and run it from NT 4.0 or you can try to use Setwin95 (Copy the content of the CD to harddisk and patch the install program with Setwin95). Check out the Q&A section for more information about Setwin95.

Quote: Seems that TNT and V3 work fine under both os's.... (speculation from me :-) Check the first post. Dan used a Voodoo 3 (3dfx Voodoo3 2000) and not a Voodoo 2.
-
I don´t know current what this problem cause but received many emails that Quake 3 doesn´t work in SMP under Windows 2000. [This message has been edited by Philipp (edited July 19, 1999).]

The Nvidia NT 4.0 drivers and the registry patch is only to enable DirectDraw acceleration (2D) for video. There is no Direct3D acceleration.
-
You can also try the AOpen TNT/TNT2 drivers 2.0 (You don´t need a AOpen card ) for Windows 2000 ftp://ftp.aopen.com.tw/pub/driver/vga/pa3010/bw2kr200.exe
