Just a quick note that the search function is currently not working because the search index is missing. I will reindex the search index tomorrow morning.

This is way different in the new forums. There is now a "current topics" option which will display the last 10 topics of each single forum. The folder for each topic is marked in 4 different colors, depend on the age of each post: Posts of the last 6 hours Posts of the last 7-12 hours Posts of the last 12-24 hours 24 hours+ This was necessary because the new forum is using a caching system like the rest of the website.

Please lay off the Fedora Core announcements

Quote: If you would like to post updates to packages of Fedora Core, why aren't you posting package updates for other distros like Gentoo, Debian or Mandrake? Done. I just added Gentoo and Mandrake to the news system. Debian has already his own category. However, there are much less updates because Debian.org release only security updates for the stable branch. Any other distro requests?

    AOL Welcome Voice

Quote: definately annoying advertising! The advertising company is testing those new text ads. What is annoying on that ads? This type of ad highlights only up to 4 words on the entire page. The ad text links looks also different that the usual links. I don’t see where the problem is?

Mepis - Heavy Weight Contender for Mandrake

I tried Mepis last week and liked it. I never saw a better preconfigured desktop distro, it comes even with build-in nVidia 3D drivers 8) However, some hardware (like SCSI) is not supported by the current release

    mplayer dependencies

Using the force option is now a good idea. Instead download YUM from http://shrike.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=1559 and change the /etc/yum.conf like this: Code: [main]cachedir=/var/cache/yumdebuglevel=2logfile=/var/log/yum.logpkgpolicy=newestdistroverpkg=redhat-releasegpgcheck=1tolerant=1exactarch=1[os]name=Red Hat Linux $releasever - $basearch - osbaseurl=http://ayo.freshrpms.net/redhat/$releasever/$basearch/os[updates]name=Red Hat Linux $releasever - $basearch - updatesbaseurl=http://ayo.freshrpms.net/redhat/$releasever/$basearch/updates[freshrpms]name=Red Hat Linux $releasever - $basearch - freshrpmsbaseurl=http://ayo.freshrpms.net/redhat/$releasever/$basearch/freshrpms Now you can run yum install mplayer to install mplayer

Are you using a network card for the internet connection? If yes, try to disable "kudzu" (under services) and reboot.
