    xp pro crashing

Press the Windows Logo+BREAK keys to bring up system properties. Click on the Advanced tab then under Startup and Recovery click on setting. In the system failure section uncheck the box that says Automatically restart then click OK, OK. You should now be able to write down all the codes as the system will stay on the blue screen instead of restarting.

    Norton Internet Security problem

You may want to try booting into safe mode then use add/remove programs to see if you can uninstall from safe mode. If that does not work then try SymNRT.

    Adding a subwwofer!

With most onboard audio you set the software to 5.1 or 6 channel then use the light blue connection (normally line in) for the bass/center speaker.

  8. I only use Ghost 2003 as I do not trust cloning from within Windows and 2003 is included with Ghost 9. Sounds like you did something wrong as I think I have seen this problem posted on the offical forums for True Image. For Ghost you can get info at Ghost Radified and they also have a forum that is all about Ghost. Bye
  9. Answer to your problem may be RefreshForce. You set rates to whatever you want and they stay set until you update drivers or want to change rates to something else.

  11. XP has a backup admin account. Have you tried booting into safe mode then typing administrator for the log in name? Should not have to enter a password as by default there will not be one. [Edited by american zombie on 2005-10-06 20:51:45]
  12. Right-click on the "My Computer" icon and select properties. Go to the Advanced tab then under the heading Startup and Recovery click on the Setting button. In the System failure section uncheck the box in front of Automatically restart. Now when you get the blue screen you will be able to see what the message is saying so post that here.

Stop error message on start up

See if Windows will boot if you do the following: Boot to safe mode and once in safe mode go to Start > Run then type in the box msconfig and push OK. On the general tab tick the box that says Selective startup and below that untick Load startup items. Click apply then close config utility. Reboot into normal windows and see if you get that error. Boot CD: What did you use to burn the CD? If your system is still booting from the hard drive then you need to go into Bios and set boot order so CD is 1st boot device. What make/model of laptop is this?

Stop error message on start up

If you can get into safe mode without crashing then it is most likely a driver causing this. While in safe mode try looking in event viewer to see if the driver causing the error is listed. More reading for you but maybe you have already seen it - http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=137539

Stop error message on start up

Have you tried selecting the other options in the safe mode menu like Last known good configuration? Instead of the Microsoft memory tester go get Memtest to test your memory. May want to look at this about Stop errors.

    Startup woes

I have seen your problem on three of these boards and all three were the heatsink was not installed correctly. The CPU overheat sensor was turning the system off and since yours does it even in Bios I bet it is your problem as well. The Asus Post Reporter is what you want to be using right now as it may tell you EXACTLY why board is turning off. Look in the manual on how to use it. I bet it will tell you "CPU temperature too high".

    Please help me...

Using system restore or doing a repair install will not make you lose any data. Unless you mean all you have is a restore disk and not a XP retail one.

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL means that an application with a lower priority is trying to take CPU time away from an application with higher priority. The higher priority process may be an important system application that the machine can't run without, so Windows may not allow it to happen. Go through the steps at this link and in your case maybe starting with A Stop 0x0A error after Windows XP is already installed. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314063&sd=RMVP

If this is XP you go to Start > control panel then what you do next depends on what view you are in. If category view you click on Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options then Regional and Language Options. Now click on the Languages tab then under Text services and input languages click on the Details button. If you are in classic view you just click on Regional and Language Options in control panel then Text services and input languages then the Languages tab then click on the Details button.

Win XP SP2 - no sound card detected

It may be that your old drivers were not WHQL certified for SP2 so XP would not load them. Keep that URL to those drivers as they are updated all the time to fix bugs or add enhancements.
