    Windows Xp crash

Computer will shut off when the temperature sensors think the PC is getting too warm so as to protect CPU from burn out. Check to see if vents are clogged with dust and if so then clean them with compressed air.

You may be able to get HDDLife to do this for you.

Latest NVIDIA drivers - no more Override Refresh Rate?

Never used the NVIDIA control panel as it had flaws and was not always accurate. Try RefreshForce as it sets rates and they stay set until you install new drivers.

Ghost wont see usb dvd burner

If the controller is not USB 2.0 then you have to use 1.1 drivers on your Ghost floppy disk. Redo disk with 1.1 drivers and problem should be solved.

HELP - XP boot problem !!!!

If you can not get XP running and REALLY need some files off the system then I suggest you go download BartPE. You can then get into the drive that will not boot to either put the files on another drive, floppy or burn to cd before you format the main drive for re-install of XP.

    help! IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL & PFN_LIST_CORRUPT help!

A lot of times the IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error can be because of power supply or in a laptop's case the battery. It can be caused by memory too but I have seen over 300 cases in my shop where it was power supply or battery. Try checking memory with Memtest and if memory has no errors then look into either power supply or battery problem.

    C:\xerox\nwwia folder

First to PoppaBare, the RECYCLER is the name of the recycle bin so you can't delete or get rid of it. I had to laugh when I read you wanted to delete it. The xerox folder should be there and will cause no harm but most people have it in C:\Program Files\xerox\nwwia and not C:\xerox\nwwia. That folder is used during logon by the imaging software in XP, as Microsoft licensed some of the tech from Xerox. The wia in the name of the folder named nwwia stands for "Windows Image Acquisition". I would just leave the folder alone as XP looks for it at logon.

You can easily change your Windows Media Player from a Digital Audio Playback to the older analog output by changing the properties in WMP via the Tools -> Options -> Devices Tab. Look for your optical drive then change the following. Playback (Digital by Default) change the Radio Button to Analog. Sometimes you also need to enable the Use Error Correction button too Now Mr. Smarty Pants, try that without an audio cable and listen for any CD Audi Playback Did what you said and all still works just fine so I still have no clue what you mean.
  11. Not sure where you got your info jmmijo but it is wrong. I can play audio tracks on any cd with or without "enable digital cd audio" box being checked and I do not have an analog cable going from my sound card. Has more to do with if the device supports CDDA.

    Cannot print from IE.

Found this but not sure it applies to 2003. 1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 2. Double-click System. 3. On the Environment tab, note the path for the TEMP variable in the User Variables for Name box. The default is SystemDrive:\Temp. 4. Use Windows NT Explorer to verify that the path you noted in step 3 exists. If it does not exist, create it.

Get Stinger and see if it finds any viruses. It may also be some kind of spyware or ad-ware but try Stinger first.

    pci.sys missed or corrupted

Is the XP cd you repaired with have SP1 or is it a cd that has no service packs? You will get errors doing a repair on a SP2 install if the cd is SP1 or a no service packs cd. You would need to (after repair) install whatever service pack you had installed before the repair to fix the errors. As far as getting your files off the PC you could use Barts PE. Depending on what you put on the Bart cd you could burn your files to cd/dvd, copy to a floppy or something else.

BLUE SREEN OF DEATH UNDER SP2

Microsoft's memory tester is ok but do not rely just on it as I have had false positives with it. Go get Memtest and run a few passes with it.
