    unhiding processes in windows xp

Yeah, I'm curious too, please tell. sefi99, there is software called "Hijack This", it will list all the processes running on your PC, check there to make sure that the process you want to "un hide" is really running.
  4. Or you can use the ERD LIVE CD to boot with, then you can override any access:)

Hee hee, in a 1000 years they will put it in a museum and say it’s a prehistoric artifact, P1 120 with 16MB RAM, and it’s the equivalent to a modern day matchbox:)

Well, you'll know what I mean... ) APK I know what you mean, if you think back of when the P1 came out after the 486 and you could not believe how much faster it was, hee hee, now if you see a P1 you cant help but think to yourself if it'll be possible to float if you throw it in the sea Well, to be honest, it will float, for a little while, a guy I worked with at the Ponds (its a mineral company that floats on water) we had a PC (P1 or 2, cant remember, loooong time ago) that we had to take back to the office and while we were walking it got stuck against the railing of the walkway (still on the water), when he kerked it free it slipped out of his hands and went flying into the water, all we could do was laff and look at it floating for a couple of minutes before it started to sink slowly. We watched it till it went so deep that we could not see it anymore, then we went back to the 4x4 and drove back to the office (without the PC, but with fond memories thereof)

    Computers unable to communicate

If the two PC's are connected together with only the Network Cable without a switch/hub then you will need a Crossover cable, I've seen where Windows also says a network cable is plugged in with a normal Patch cable. To make sure that you have a Crossover cable check THIS SITE. If you do have the crossover cable then check with IPCONFIG /ALL like APK mentioned and make sure that the 2 IP's are in the same range and that the SUBNETMASK's are the same, it's very important that they are. Windows should detect the settings from the other PC and use the default IP's, unless one or both PC's have been set up with static IP's, then you could have a problem. To check for static IP's do the following: On the taskbar next to the time, you will see that little icon with 2 computer monitors on them, thats the one that says that the network cable is now connected, click on it, it should pop up the "Local Area Connection Status". Click on the "properties" button, in the next window, double click on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)", then make sure that "Obtain an IP address automatically" is ticked/selected. Do this on both machines. Restart both machines then run IPCONFIG /ALL again to get their new IP's and ping each PC to see if it works.

Thanks for that LinuxCrusader, I didn't even know about that, I was too busy playing around in the promt, but it still dont help, it gives me the same error as when I use WLCARDCONFIG, it says that it could not find any wireless network (in German, so it could be device instead of network, I dont know)
  14. January 6, 2005, 4:43 PM PST Electronic Arts' simulated life game, Sims 2, lets players create their own digital lifestyle--one that is not supposed to include computer viruses. However, hacks of in-game items and users' penchant for showing off their houses has led to an epidemic of strange items appearing in player's homes, according to computer security site SecurityFocus. Suddenly, players are finding that magic espresso makers and dishwashing machines named Candace have popped up in their digital homes. The issue is a study in unintended consequences, and not the fault of "griefers." Electronic Arts allows hackers to modify items in the games and place them on the Sims 2 Exchange site for download. However, people downloading the virtual objects may end up replacing the code for the original object--all dishwashing machines in their simulated world will be named Candace, for example. Those changes could spread to other digital homes. A Sims 2 player who downloaded a hacked item and, at a later time, uploaded a showcase home to the Sims 2 Exchange, would spread the changes to anyone who downloaded their home file. The victim's homes in the game would then exhibit the changes, the SecurityFocus article said. Even virtual life has its issues, it seems. Hi Dapper Dan, welcome back, I ran that ifconfig and I'll paste the results at the bottom. How much ever I would love to get this wireless to work I am not able to buy anything at this stage, I have not been able to find a job for the past 8 months now and therefor I do not own any money whatsoever, which drives me crazy, cause I need job/money. root@fuct:~# /sbin/ifconfig lo Protokoll:Lokale Schleife inet Adresse:127.0.0.1 Maske:255.0.0.0 inet6 Adresse: ::1/128 Gültigkeitsbereich:Maschine UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:6 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:6 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 Kollisionen:0 Sendewarteschlangenlänge:0 RX bytes:300 (300.0 TX bytes:300 (300.0 root@fuct:~#

Thanks for the help, I managed to create that file and add the stuff according to this procedure but it still did not work. I think I'm doing something wrong, if one of you sat in my chair you would have it working in 2 minutes flat. I really need to learn more about linux before I attempt to do anything on it, AARRRGGHHH
