  1. Basically, having read other threads and messed about a touch with the registry settings of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds, I have activated the Network options.

Me and my friend have attempted to play a game over TCP/IP but so far no good. We start the game fine but the moment we do the game freezes and won't allow us to click anything, bring up menus or speed up time. Basically its frozen except the cursor will still move around on screen.

If anyone has successfuly played a game please post here and let me know what you did, reg changes you made etc.

    Thanks laugh

  2. I have been trying to play this over a network. However, I think I am having similar Synch problems mentioned earlier. Has anyone successfuly run a network game yet?

I was using TCP/IP connection on my friends home network.

I haven't tried copying maps to the map directory from the CD yet, that might help. I hope it does because this game would be extremely fun between two people.

Mind you, the game was released minus multiplayer and then Rage went bust so it is likely that the game was supposed to be patched at a later date to allow for Multiplayer. Ah well.

Let me know if you have any success.

  3. Amazing! Im so happy right now. Downloaded the patch and the game works. I remember being so excited when this game came out and the fact that on the final level it continually crashed and I never completed the game did irk somewhat. But now I have the chance to get to the Martian base once again and no doubt indulge in some crappy Vox32 animation laugh

Im also going to try for the ridiculous resolution registry change; Im just happy there are people out there who appreciate the same flawed genius that this game was. And that there are people with more knowledge on how to get old crappy but brilliant games to work. Superb.
