    outlook express- aol messenger.

Outlook Express is configured to run Windows Messenger NOT AOL Messenger on startup. AOL Messenger must be configured to run elsewhere eg Programs Startup folder or Run via registry (unless AOL Messenger has an option to -replace- windows messenger)...

0xc0000005 error installing Flight Simulator X

Run DXDIAG tool to see if your nvidea graphics card is working properly and also check that the latest drivers are installed (not beta versions).

    cant load pc railroads

    1. Are you logged in as an Administrator? 2. Do you have Windows XP SP2 (32 bit) installed? 3. How much free disk space do you have? 4. Is anything reported in the Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc)?

    my sd-612 won't play dvd's

Sounds like a common program, according to a search on Google. I would recommend replacing the drive with something more modern and reliable.

    PC & CE DVD compatability

Yes, movies recorded on your standalone DVD recorder can be played on your PC as long as you have some DVD Playback software such as Power DVD from Cyberlink or ones supplied with DVD burner software.

i cant install windows xp .why ?

I would replace the CD/DVD drive or get a cleaning kit so it can read the disk faster and more reliably.

    Slow runescape

Ys, you would notice that it boots a few seconds faster, you can login faster and loading programs will be faster as well!

    hard disk

Depends on how the 80GB is advertised. Simetimes its the unformatted size, so once a partition and filesystem is added, some space is 'lost', the size depends on the OS and filesystem. Sometimes when they say 80GB its either 80GB using binary 1024 or decimal 1000 bytes. And no, you cannot get the 5GB back.

    Call of duty opengl problem

Try DABS at: http://www.dabs.com/productlist.aspx?&am...&PageMode=1 Choice of card depends whether you have AGP or PCI Express slots. Any card from £100 or more will be be good for games. Latest Intel drivers are here: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-...&PrdMap=798 Compatibility issues: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-010467.htm

Mother board and graphics card compatibility

It depends on how much of the PC you need to replace. All cards are now PCI Express, how many PCI cards do you have? If replacing the motherboard, you may have to replace the CPU, the memory and possibly the PSU as well. If it turns out you need to replace more that half the PC, its cheaper to buy a new complete PC.

    Populous - The Beginning problem

Populous doesn't require much to run. See http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/populousthebeginning/tech_info.html for tech specs. Try installing the 1.01 patch (see link above)

    Call of duty opengl problem

Not a new driver, a new Graphics Card. The Intel 82810 card is basically too slow to run CoD, get a ATI or Nvidea card.

    XP Home to Pro

Yes you can upgrade to SP2 without affecting your documents or pictures. A backup is recommended before making any big changes. It does not matter if the PC had SP1. SP2 includes everything released in SP1 anyway.

    Novell 6.0 Active Connection Problem

No, the only way a session to close is to log out, a reset cannot do that. To get rid of the session you need to clear the session using Monitor or use the JRB utils to clear them.

STEAM COUNTER STRIKE ERRORS PLEASE HELP

Sounds like a problem at Steam's end rather than your end. Try later. Also, make sure your Steam.exe is allowed through by any Firewall software and make sure no VPN connections are installed as that can mess things up.

    Call of duty opengl problem

It sounds like a video codec to play certain types of AVI files. Run DxDiag.exe and look on the Display tab to see what gfx card you have.

Its for Web servers. Upgrade to Windows 2003 standard for more features.

    Slow runescape

Clear out the Temp internet files folder via Internet Options. First run a defrag on all partitions on your HD as your system will be very fragmented, that should speed up the system. It will boot a little faster and saving and loading should be faster. Adding more memory to the system will help.

    NTFS networks

None what so ever. Over a network the filesystem is irrelevant, as you will be using shares using SMB or CIFS to access files.

    Domain Controller and this scenario

Please do not submit passwords on the internet. I would change them as soon as possible!!!! Ideally, your laptop should be configured on DHCP on the LAN, to access it you can either use Terminal Services Client or RDP client or just map a drive to a share on the server and a login dialog box should appear to access it.

    red alert 95 problem

You either have some files missing or try using the compatibility wizard to get it working. Run sfc /scannow to check for missing files. Also make sure autoexec.nt and config.nt exist in your windows system32 folder.

    Mechwarrior 2:Mercenaries

run the Program Compatibility Wizard program from the Accessories on the start menu and select Setup.exe to install it. Or create a shortcut to setup.exe and change the options on the compatibility tab to something like Windows 98.
